Atooma as Early Developer for Project Ara by Google

Atooma’s application for a Project Ara development board has been succesfully accepted.

This means that our startup will contribute with a new hardware module prototype to be included into Google vision.

Project Ara is about building a new technology that allows smartphones to be made out of modular blocks, with embedded functionalities. This way end users can access complete customization over their personal devices, and also they won’t have to throw away their phones because of outdated technology.

We can’t disclose much informations about our project, but of course you can expect some vertical sinergy with our mission and technology.
Stay tuned to be updated on Atooma for Ara!

The word spreading on social networks is officially confirmed: Atooma will soon land on the iPhone for the first time.
Atooma for the Android market has been out of beta for 10 months. During this time we have grown, we became more aware of our vision, and we have built a strong relationship with our users, knowing better what they like and what they don’t like.
So this new product will not be a mere porting of our app, but will be a new way for a new audience of users to experience and interface themselves with our vision of a context aware world, populated by devices able to perform what we call “smart actions”.
We believe the greatest quality peak of a context-aware platform, is to make itself invisible and plain simple. This is our goal with Atooma for iOS. We put to good use all the experiences gathered with Android, and developed an iOS friendly solution that reflects our focus on a seamless user experience, simple to the bones, and magically based on the context and lifestyle of the user.
Atooma for iOS will be released in Beta version, and will be downloadable for free from the App Store. In the upcoming months after the release new smart actions will be added, featuring important partners in the Internet of Things and Smart Devices field.

Atooma triumphs over 325 other teams from 39 countries in international ideas competition

At the second annual Telekom ideas competition, Atooma triumphed in the Champions Pitch round. In the global final in Krakow a total of eleven startups from Europe and Israel competed for seed capital, hardware and software prizes, contacts to top decision-makers in the Telekom Group and inclusion in international startup events such as the Long Night of the Startups in Berlin, which attracts up to 6,000 visitors.

Peter Borchers, Founder and Head of hub:raum Berlin, adds: “Telekom Innovation Contest clearly shows the big picture of interconnecting early-stage startups with Deutsche Telekom. With hub:raum, Telekom Innovation Laboratories, Kitchen Budapest and others, Deutsche Telekom is proposing a comprehensive offer to startups to pragmatically link them with global business partners. Therefore we support the Telekom Innovation Contest and are looking forward to meet the winning teams.”

We can’t be happier for the whole team and especially for the great debut of our new entry as Marketing & Community Manager Luca Barboni who joined the team just few time ago. Great opportunities ahead guys!

New Snapback Plugin for Atooma will blow you away.We already mentioned Snapback as a disruptive startup in the mobile world which is working on a revolutionary SDK to allow sightless and touchless interactions with your smartphone. For example, with Snapback tech you can have your smartphone sensing the sound of a snap, or the sound of blowing on you phone, and a whole array of motions and gestures without even touching the device!
Thanks to Atooma SDK we added one of the coolest functions into our app, and now Atooma will be able to trigger smart actions based on the sound of you blowing on the microphone of your phone.
So, what about sharing pictures on Facebook just by blowing on the smartphone?
